Political ranting time... sigh

Basically I'm awake and not tired at 2 in the morning so I thought I'd do an update to stop Sam continuously asking me if I'm going to do a post.
Ok so for the last week or so I've managed to remain calm about Sarah Palin, John McSame's running mate (and probably the next vice-president or maybe president if McSame dies).
John Mcsame annoys me enough but Sarah Palin, has sort of tipped the boat into absolute hatred of the republican nomination.
The problems I have with Palin are numerous. Number One on my list is her attitude to abortion (pro-life (I hate that phrase it makes it sound like you're against life if you're pro-choice)). She is even against abortion in rape cases, which is very insensitive towards the victim in these cases and also could impactly deeply on the child once it is born. Also in cases of incest she is against this regardless of how this may affect the child. "Halcro recalls one debate in October 2006 in which, after repeated questions about her opposition to abortion even in cases of rape or incest, she looked at the moderator with exasperation and asked if they were going to talk about anything besides abortion. It was detracting from her new message: cleaning up the capitol." i. As she says the only method of contraception is abstinence ii. Which is a really really stupid idea... so you teach abstinence then kids who's hormones overcame them don't know to use a condom, I know that sounds unlikely but it's possible. Maybe this is the case with her 17 year old daughter, Bristol, who is 5 months pregnant? Now the use of this as political leverage would be very insensitive by any opposition and her privacy should be respected, the thing that worries me however was Sarah Palin's response to this, brushing it off by saying she's going to have the baby and marry the father. Now to be fair i don't know all the details so this may be a fair thing to say, but her off-handness as though this explains everything away scares me.
She is also a devout Evangelist as may be seen by the fact she wants creationism taught alongside evolution in schools.
Quick rant about teaching creationism- Creationists frequently argue that it should be taught alongside the theory of evolution so that "the children can make their own minds up". Bullshit. In actuality it is so they can try and force creationism onto impressionable kids, who can't fully understand the theory of evolution yet. I have no problem with creationism being taught in say R.E. or Sunday School etc. but not in a science lesson. The evidence used to support creationism is flaws in the theory of evolution due to lack of evidence in the "oh so complete" fossil record, but then they casually overlook the lack of evidence to support any of their theories.
Ok back to Sarah Palin, there were reports also that she tried to ban books in the library of the city in which she was mayor, however when researching this rant I found no evidence to support it and lots of reports de-bunking it so I'm not going to hold that against her (unless it turns out to be true).
She is also a gun fanatic with a lifelong membership to the NRA and believes that the Second Amendment should be upheld, despite the fact it's outdated and is bollocks. The British aren't going to invade any more and to be honest I doubt a US militia formed from the general public would be any use what-so-ever in the event of an invasion of US territory. What people in the US don't realise is that having guns is directly proportionate to the number of people killed by guns. The argument that if only criminals have guns people won't be able to defend themselves has as much value as human faeces, the next bit will be in Caps just to reiterate the point... IF GUNS ARE EASY TO OBTAIN, IT IS EASIER FOR CRIMINALS TO GET THEM. How this isn't obvious escapes me. For example when was the last school shooting in Britain? 1996 in Dunblane
iii), before handguns became illegal in the UK. When was the last one in America? Last month, August 21st so 3 weeks ago in actuality iv) . Statistics point away from guns being useful.
My last point as I need to get to sleep soon is the fact that she is inexperienced (despite her arguments that Obama is as well) and that I have been to more countries than she has with her visiting a grand total of 4 outside of her own country. With increased globalisation and foreign interests she doesn't seem like a great choice for vice-president of the world's most powerful and influential country.
Also "her speech" that wowed the republican party was written for her and she spent a week in a hotel practising with George Bush's script writers to hone it so she could impress at that convention.

Anyway that's all for now, I've been very busy sorting out Uni crap and that's the reason for these short and sporadic posts so sorry about that.
